Enrichment Programs |
Our primary goal this year is to increase the quality and number of the before and after school enrichment programs for our students. Currently we have plans to sponsor and/or support the following programs for the 2009-10 school year. |
Kid Power: The Kid Power program provides comprehensive safety education and confidence-building skills to children ages 3-18 and their families. Kidpower’s mission is to teach young people to use their own power to stay safe from abuse, assault and abduction. Freedom PTA will be hosting 2 sessions during the 2009-10 school year. Those dates and details are being coordinated and will be posted here soon. For more information on Kid Power visit www.kidpowercs.org |

Science Matters: Science Matters after-school enrichment clubs meet at Freedom Elementary once a week for 1 hour during each program. Every week, our students investigate and explore the world of science via fun hands-on learning activities that reinforce the science. Each week includes a "make & take" project that the students bring home. Weekly parent letters keep you clued into new vocabulary and science topics that we cover in class. They might include experiments that you can do at home to continue to support your child's interest in science. After-school clubs are fun and educational. Your student will look forward to the science club every week.
